Ireland won the toss and opted to bowl first against hosts Zimbabwe in the opening one-day international of the three-match series at Harare Sports Clublucky time, Harare on Friday (February 14, 2024). Johnathan Campbell is making his debut for Zimbabwe in this match. (More Cricket News)

Explaining his decision to bowl first, Ireland skipper Paul Stirling said: "Little bit of weather around. We have to adopt quickly. Might not give that much assistance in the first 15 overs."

He added: "We have to put the Test match (victory) behind us. It is never a dull match against Zimbabwe."

His opposite number Craig Ervine said: "We would have bowled first. It might move a little early on. We need to play a little cautiously. The overcast conditions seem fine. Guys are upbeat. Change of format. Nice couple of days at Harare."
